Off-Road Adventure for the Sentient Being
Yup. I'm out of commission for a little bit. Check it out at the Motosapiens Broken Leg Page
Yeah, I moved to Idaho, but the race is still in Ely. On June 9, 2007, the Great Basin Trails Alliance is putting on the Fears, Tears and Beers mtb enduro. Follow the link to learn more!
There has always been great riding in this area, but you had to know where to look to find the good stuff. Thanks to Kalem Lenard and the Great Basin Trails Alliance (GBTA), that has changed. The GBTA is a non-profit organization that is working on building, maintaining, signing and mapping trails for all user groups. Working closely in partnership with the BLM, USFS and Nevada State Parks, they have already designed and constructed some nice non-motorized trail in Cave Lake State Park, and connected the two best mountain bike trail systems, allowing a nearly 2000' descent from Ward Mountain all the way into town. Check out the trail maps at the GBTA Website.

Idaho has the best dirtbiking in the world, and some of the best mountain biking too. Duh. Why do you think I moved here? Look for some specific trail info in the future, but don't expect me to give away all the goods. I'm especially interested in doing some dualsport exploring with my DR650, and I'll be posting some GPS tracks of my favorite dualsport rides. Also look for some expanded gps info for moab that may come in handy for folks unfamiliar with the area. Again, don't expect the little-known out of the way rides, but just a free way for new visitors to find a few good rides there without getting lost.
