When: June 9th 2007, 9:00 a.m. at Broadbent Park, 501 Mill st.
Registration/Check-in 7:00-10:00pm Friday night June 8th at the Twisted Pine bar, and 7:00-8:30am on race day at Broadbent park.
What:
Special Note: Please wash your bike before coming to Ely to help prevent the spread of noxious, invasive weeds. These invasive species can be a severe fire danger as well as a threat to wildlife habitat, and to the livelihood of local farmers and ranchers.
In addition to the many fine hotels in downtown Ely, there is also free camping available at Broadbent park (start/finish area) friday night. If you camp, remember that you are in a residential neighborhood, so be considerate and keep the noise down after dark please.
There will be 3-5 timed sections or "special tests", mostly twisty downhills. The sum of the times on these special tests will determine the winner. Additionally, riders must reach the beginning of each special test by a predetermined cutoff time to avoid penalties added to the time. These cutoff times will be set to allow approximately 90% of the riders to make the cutoffs if they ride at a moderate trail pace. So take your time and enjoy the uphills and scenic views, then let it all hang out in the special tests.
